Our mission is to provide each military member with a comfortable and affordable place to stay whenever they’re traveling on orders. We couldn’t do that without our team members and support from our local community so we’d like to highlight one of our favorite community partners. Introducing our very own, Nadine Dorantes, or as we and the tenants like to call her, Chef Nade!
Chef Nade delivers her very own professionally prepared, in-home chef-catered meals for our PIT Pads at Randolph AFB. She’s been serving our tenants and keeping them happy, healthy, and more importantly, full! We first started working with Chef Nade in 2015 and our tenants have greatly appreciated her food but also her warm and welcoming charm.
Chef Nade graduated with honors from St. Phillips and grey cord for Women in Non-Traditional Occupations (WINTO). She also attended the Culinary Business Academy in Austin, TX with the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA). She is a member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF) and has served meals in the San Antonio area for the past 10 years. She does a mixture of professional chef catering as well as serves as a caretaker for her veteran parents. When she’s not cooking delicious meals for our tenants, she’s taking care of her mother and father or catering other local events.
Chef Nade comes from a military family where she was the youngest of five children. Her father served time in the U.S. Army as well as the U.S. Air Force. Her older brothers have also served in the Army and her brother in law spent his entire career in the Air Force. She’s lived the military lifestyle and seen firsthand the toll it can take on families as they deal with the stressors of deployments and frequent moves. She knows what our tenants are going through which drives her to help us in our mission of taking care of military members and their families.
We are so blessed to have Chef Nade working with us and serving our tenants. We truly appreciate her willingness to ensure that our tenants are fully fed with hearty and healthy meals. Our tenants talk about how they look forward to Wednesday nights because that’s when Chef Nade comes and that’s when they get to have a good laugh.
Her dedication to serving those who serve as well as her pursuit of excellence and integrity are exactly what we look for when we partner with local contractors. Thank you, Chef Nade, for all that you do. We hope you’ll continue helping us serve those looking for Randolph AFB Lodging.
