Its football season and you know what that means if you’re a military family. It’s time to find out exactly what your neighbors are about. In the military world, we have different hometowns; we might have picked up a love for a team from a city we lived in for a while. Maybe we are college fans more than we are NFL fans.
Wherever your allegiances lie it’s time to get those jerseys out and represent your favorite team. It is also the perfect opportunity to get together with your co-workers, friends, and neighbors. Military life comes with some crazy ups and downs, but setting you down amongst a group of people who are also used to making friends all the time and know-how to put on a party is one of the blessings of this crazy life.
Here are some of our favorite ideas for getting your football on!
- Snack Stadium – Looking for a way to get as many snacks as you can of all different kinds while skipping the juice and soda boxes? Well, oddly enough this is the perfect pin for you!! Plus, if you’re a host who really likes a theme, this is a triple win for you!
- Keep your electrolytes up and have a little fun with these Gatorade Jello Shots. All you need is Gatorade and gelatin and you’re good to go! Adult versions available, but you’ll have to figure that out yourself.
- If you’re looking for an easy way to feed a lot of people, we love this idea of a Nacho Bar! Choose your meat, your toppings and serve in a bowl for an easy-to-eat, and filling, food idea for your party!
- For those with kids or those that just want to have a little fun during half-time, print out these Football themed Bingo cards! Keeps kids and adult entertained during the downtimes of a football game, add a fun prize to keep things interesting.
- If you are looking to keep it simple and just serve appetizers all game long, check out this list of 20 Game Day Appetizers! With a full kitchen at each crashpad, you’ll have plenty of room to cook.
Football has this ability to bring people together, even those who don’t necessarily live and die by their team’s ability to win a game. People are devoted to the sport and to their team, and even if your new neighbor doesn’t share your love for (insert chosen team here), games are a perfect way to keep everyone busy watching and giving everyone a relaxed atmosphere to know each better or bring new people into your already existing group.
Don’t forget to invite your non-football loving neighbors over for the Super Bowl and Army/Navy games too. Even if they root for the “wrong” team or only show up for the commercials and the half-time show!
Go TEAM!!!
