6 Ideas to Make the Most of the Rest of Summer

We are smack dab in the middle of summertime. PCS season is in full swing, people are getting settled in their new homes, vacations are happening, and the business of life is keeping us all preoccupied. But there is still time to make the most of the rest of the summer, even if you have “bored” kids.

Summer fun and relaxation are the order of the day, and while chores and practicing those multiplication tables are important, taking some time for simple fun is important. And don’t worry, if you don’t have children this list is for you, too!

Summer Drinks

Summer is the perfect time to try out all those cool, refreshing drinks you’ve been eyeing. If you’ve never thought of mixing lemonade and a milkshake together you can give it a try with this recipe from Wit and Wander. Or, check out this Layered Mermaid Slushie from Simple Sweet Recipes. And if you’re a Chick-Fil-A fan, you will definitely want to give this CopyCat Frozen Lemonade a try.

Blue Star Museums

In collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families brings us Blue Star Museums. A collection of museums around the country that offer free admission to military families, including National Guard and Reserve. Make the most of summer vacation by adding a stop on your cross-country road trip, or taking a stay-cation day to your local museum. Tag #BlueStarMuseums when you visit a museum and have #BlueStarSummer.
