A small town like Altus means that we mostly default to running by the local Walmart to grab whatever we need, or else ordering online. But if you’re willing to look a little deeper, Altus has several local businesses to fit almost any shopping need!
Abby Lane
Abby Lane is my favorite shop in Altus. Set up as a series of booths, local artists and pickers get to rent space to sell everything from antiques and restored furniture to candles and jewelry to cheeky shirts. I love that their selection changes so often that it doesn’t feel like a dilapidated antique store. Their prices are also great – I’ve bought anything from hostess gifts to a bookcase there!
Enchanted Door
Enchanted Door is Abby Lane’s upscale cousin. A local mother and daughter fill the shelves of their boutique with beautiful pieces – anything from couches and elegant mirrors to high-end olive oil. It’s a great spot to shop for luxurious home accents. If you want more old-school, head upstairs to check out their selection of antiques.
Cotton Candi Creations
If you’re looking for women’s clothing and fun jewelry Cotton Candi Creations is the place to start. This boutique stocks cute shoes, sassy, sweaters, and tons of gorgeous jewelry. Their clothes seem good quality and they’re great about running sales. Cotton Candi Creations also has a sister store, Cotton Pickin’ Kids, for kids’ clothing just across the street.
Cotton Patch
Located next door to Enchanted Door, Cotton Patch is another great women’s boutique. They carry Kendra Scott jewelry and Vera Bradley bags as well as cute clothes. I had to pull myself away from their boot selection before I bought one of everything.
Pendleton’s
Don’t worry, these shops aren’t just geared towards women. Pendleton’s opened in the past year and offers brands you may not expect to find in Altus, like Southern Tide and Fish Hippie. They also stock nice shaving kits, leather creations, and other great guy gifts. I’ll be heading here for my husband’s next birthday.
Farmhouse Junction
While technically in nearby Blair, not Altus, this is a favorite spot. Think Anthropologie meets Magnolia: housewares, decor, and furniture. They do custom furniture creation too. Some friends ordered a farmhouse table with benches, and the craftsmanship is excellent. That table will be a beautiful and useful souvenir for years! At only 15 minutes away, Farmhouse Junction has to make your list of spots to check out.
Even in the age of Amazon Prime and free shipping, you just can’t beat browsing for that perfect thing in person. So next time you need a gift or a pick me up, try one of these Altus local businesses!
